Self-pity and Overthinking are very common ways we traumatize ourselves which are as strong as any drug or alcohol.
Are you someone who is obsessed with your misery? Do you know someone who is? Boasting about your depression or serious issues, even when you clearly know how to improve your life?
This post is in regard to BEING ADDICTED TO UNHAPPINESS.
HOW DOES ADDICTION FORM INITIALLY?
There can be many possible explanations for this, but I would share my experience in this post.
If you feel you are undeserving and not worth of the things you get in life, you’re highly likely to be addicted to unhappiness.
If somebody in your past had mistreated or ignored you, you begin to accept that you do not deserve to be treated well or do not deserve high success and love.
STOP ACCEPTING WHAT PEOPLE GIVE YOU, MAINLY WHEN IT IS NEGATIVITY
Do you find reasons to be unhappy while everything in life is going good?
Are you too rigid on yourself to achieve something, or while you fail at something?
Do you always try to victimise yourself?
If the answers are yes, then you definitely need a rehab for your subconscious mind. No, this doesn’t mean you are mentally ill – but it means you like to feel mentally troubled.
THE REHAB PROCESS
Do you want to stop this endless game of self-pitying and victimising yourself for everything?
Do you want to know if this is possible?
Well! It is possible but hard to follow.
First step to this, is to accept that you are an emotional addict.
Make a habit to find solution for the problem, and go ahead solving it.
Don’t crib 1000 reasons why you can’t do it. JUST DO IT!
The process of making yourself unhappy and pitying yourselves is an UNCONSCIOUS ACTIVITY, so you have to pay some attention to this unconscious pattern!
Catch yourself while you brood over negativity (any emotion that is in the self-pity/overthinking negatively cluster) — STOP IMMEDIATELY!
Now, consciously make an effort to think about how your problem when solved can help you grow, and how it can change you internally.
PLAN HOW TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM, DON’T WORRY IF IT WILL WORK OR NOT – JUST DO IT!
Work on this consistently till it becomes a habit unconsciously again!
And this time,
The habit is to be practical – more optimistic and opportunistic towards LIFE, replacing your habits of self-pity and being HAPPILY UNHAPPY!
