Review on the “The Accidental Apprentice” by Vikas Swarup

This book is a concept of how a single moment can turn your life around, or upside down to be more precise. More dramatic as it can get, the twists over turns can keep you thinking – how does this man get such beautiful plots!!

People often tell, “It was this moment my life changed completely”. Something similar happened with Sapna Sinha too, a middle class girl from India. However, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as his previous ones.

The things that seem to concern me is the feeling that Vikas had resorted it to a Bollywood type climax which didn’t go well with the plot twists and turns. Will not be divulging much with any spoilers, however, it is definitely worth giving a read once.

Although an engaging read, the end of The Accidental Apprentice makes you feel like a heavy meal which will take some time to digest. But having said that, it won’t fail to entertain you and if you can silence your inner logic, it is indeed an excellent read. Flabbergasted, astounded, exasperated, yes but never bored!

So, if you are looking for a light (headed) read that is heavy in weight (450 pages) then this may be the book for you.
